A proudly South African twist oats steeped in rooibos with a drizzle of local honey. Naturally caffeine-free and gently sweet.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed rooibos tea cooled
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 500ml Mason Jar
  • 1 Cup
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Tablespoon

Method
 

  1. Brew a strong cup of rooibos and let it cool completely.
  2. Stir the oats, chia seeds and cinnamon together in a jar.
  3. Add the cooled rooibos, milk, yoghurt and honey, then mix well.
  4. Seal and refrigerate overnight. Stir and add a little more honey to taste in the morning.

Notes

Brew the rooibos strong so the flavour carries through. Caffeine-free, so lovely for kids and evenings too.
