Malva Pudding-Inspired Overnight Oats

The warm, caramelly apricot-jam flavours of South Africa’s beloved malva pudding in a make-ahead jar, no oven required.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam
  • 1 tsp golden syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp chopped pecans

Method
 

  1. Stir the oats, chia seeds and cinnamon together in a jar.
  2. Add the milk, yoghurt, apricot jam and golden syrup and mix well.
  3. Seal and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Warm gently for a true malva feel, then top with pecans and an extra drizzle of syrup.
