Overnight Bircher Muesli

The original overnight oats Swiss-style bircher muesli with grated apple, nuts and juice-soaked oats.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 apple grated
  • 2 tbsp mixed nuts chopped
  • 1 tbsp sultanas

Method
 

  1. Stir the oats and chia seeds in a jar with the apple juice and milk.
  2. Add the yoghurt and sultanas and mix well.
  3. Fold through most of the grated apple, seal and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Top with the chopped nuts and reserved apple in the morning.

Notes

The classic that started it all, created by Dr Bircher-Benner. Apple juice gives it a gentle sweetness.
