The most South African breakfast you will ever make. Brewed Rooibos replaces the milk, bringing its signature earthy sweetness to every spoonful. Naturally caffeine-free, subtly spiced with cinnamon and vanilla. One taste and you will understand why this is our most-requested recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup JungleOats rolled
  • 1/2 cup Brewed Rooibos cooled
  • 1/4 cup Plain yoghurt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Raw Honey
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt & cinnamon

Equipment

  • 1 500ml Mason Jar
  • 1 Cup
  • 1 Teaspoon
  • 1 Tablespoon

Method
 

  1. Brew a strong cup of Rooibos and allow to cool fully (make ahead or use cooled leftover tea).
    1/2 cup Brewed Rooibos
  2. Combine cooled Rooibos with oats, yoghurt, honey, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in yourjar.
    1/2 cup JungleOats, 1/4 cup Plain yoghurt, 1 1/2 tsp Raw Honey, 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract, 1 pinch Salt & cinnamon
  3. Stir thoroughly, seal, and refrigerate overnight.
  4. In the morning, top with sliced almonds and a generous drizzle of raw honey.
    1 1/2 tsp Raw Honey
  5. Pair with a second cup of Rooibos for the full SA morning experience

Notes

  • Use Rooibos Vanilla or Rooibos Chai tea bags for a more complex flavour.
  • Cederberg Rooibos (loose leaf) gives the richest flavour – find it at Woolworths.
